Flamengo prepares for its debut in the 2019 LDB
Mais Querido is looking for its third title in the main youth tournament
By Victor Cachoeira - inThe time is coming! Next Wednesday (24), Flamengo takes to the court in the fight for the third championship of the Basketball Development League. With a major renewal in the squad and coaching staff, the Crias da Gávea will go all out for the title. The first phase of the competition will be held in Rio de Janeiro, and the Mais Querido will play its games at the Tijuca Tênis Clube.

The LDB 2019 qualifying phase will be divided into two stages and will qualify the top eight teams for the final phase. In the first round, the teams will be divided into two groups: Group A at the Palácio de Cristal Gymnasium in Curitiba, Paraná, and Group B at the Tijuca Tênis Clube in Rio de Janeiro. The clubs will face each other within their groups, all against all, once.
In Paraná, the tournament will feature Curitiba Basketball, Coritiba Monster, Minas TC, Paulistano, Sesi Franca, Corinthians, and Praia Clube. Meanwhile, in Rio, the tournament will feature Flamengo, Maringá, Basquete Cearense, Pinheiros, São José, and União Corinthians.
The second stage will take place in São Paulo between August 27th and September 03rd. The teams in Group A will face those in Group B, again in two different locations: the Ginásio Antonio Prado Jr and Continental Parque Clube (Osasco). At the end of this stage, the eight teams with the best records will qualify for the final stage.
