Flamengo defeats another rival in the NBB

With 43 points from forward/point guard Marcelinho, the game's top scorer, Flamengo secured its ninth victory in the NBB (New Basketball Brazil). Playing away from home, the red-black team defeated Araraquara, 99 x 86, on Tuesday night (25.01), in Matão. Flamengo remains in the lead of the competition, with an 81,81% success rate (nine wins in 11 games).
The Rio team's next challenge will be against Franca, this Thursday (27.01), at 20pm, in Franca.
The red-and-black team played without four players: forwards/centers Wagner (left knee meniscus injury) and Jefferson (right thigh adductor injury) remained in Rio de Janeiro undergoing treatment. American David Teague and rookie Fred Duarte, also known as Varejinho, were not registered for the match, as the match was scheduled for November and had to be postponed due to the South American League finals. All four will also be out of the match against Franca.
The match was evenly matched, and Flamengo only managed to open up a good lead (10 points) in the final quarter. In addition to Marcelinho, who converted eight three-pointers, forward Teichmann was another standout for the red-black team, with 15 points and 14 rebounds (double-double).
