Flamengo beat Obras Sanitárias, from Argentina, 84-80, on Sunday night (14), at the 8 de Junho gymnasium, in Paysandú, Uruguay, for the second of two matches valid for the Uruguayan window of Group B of the Champions League Americas. With the result, the Pride of the Nation achieves its first victory in the continental competition, of which it is the current champion.

Those who watched the match witnessed an extremely balanced contest between two high-level teams. Seeking recovery after their opening defeat against Nacional, Flamengo faced difficulties from the start, playing a tough and highly competitive game, going into halftime trailing on the scoreboard. In the second half, however, the team demonstrated maturity, adjusted important details, and regained control of the game. In the final minutes, they were decisive and gave their Argentinian opponents no chance.

Flamengo is awaiting the result of tonight's match between Nacional and Obras to determine its position in Group B after the first BCLA transfer window. The next window for the selection process will be in January, in Rio, between the 15th and 19th.

Now, the Pride of the Nation returns to the NBB. Next Thursday (18), Sergio Hernandez's team will take to the court to face União Corinthians, from Santa Cruz do Sul, at Maracanãzinho. Tickets are already on sale! Secure yours at ingressos.flamengo.com.br
