The trial of the six Rubro-Negro players is postponed and the team goes all out to Anápolis (GO)

Flamengo fans can breathe easy. The risk of losing almost half the team for the decisive match of the New Basketball Brazil tournament was nothing more than a scare, and coach Paulo Chupeta will have full strength for the fifth and final game of the competition's finals against Brasília, next Sunday at 10 a.m. in Anápolis, Goiás. Duda, Hélio, Wagner, Dedé, Jefferson, and Vitor Boccardo are available for the match.

The players were charged based on videos of game three, in which a widespread brawl took over the Nilson Nelson court after the home team's victory, and the red-and-black players were assaulted by the home fans. The first three were included in two articles of the CBJD (254-A, physical assault, and 258, conduct contrary to discipline or ethics). The first could result in four to 12 games, while the second could result in one to six.

Duda and Vitor were cited under Article 254-A and could face four to 12 games. Jefferson was only included in Article 258 and, if he receives the maximum penalty, will be suspended for up to six games. Brasília was reported only as an institution and could be fined.

But all the punishments will only be carried out after the competition ends. Flamengo's lawyer, Carlos Portinho, argued that he had little time to devise a defense strategy and explained that the players could not appear in court or risk not arriving at the match venue on time.
