Flamengo woke up this Monday (27) back to its old home. The first training session of the week, aiming at the next match of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) against Unifacisa, this Tuesday (28), at 20 pm, was at Ginásio Gilberto Cardoso, the popular "Maracanãzinho". Stage of great disputes, including the final series of the last edition of the NBB when the Mais Querido won its sixth national title, the gym is one of the most traditional sports facilities in Brazil, and Flamengo intends to hold all of its home court matches in 2020 at the venue (with the exception of the games in Brasília, contractual consideration offered to FlaBasquete's master sponsor, BRB bank).

Flamengo's return to the gym was made official on the 23rd and received enthusiastically by both the public and the Red-Black Nation. For the team, it's an excellent way to bring fans even closer to the games.

"Access to Maracanãzinho is easier because it's located in a more central area, where fans are already accustomed to going to watch Flamengo (Maracanã). We hope this will be another way for the nation to attend the games and cheer us on on the court, because the importance of having this sixth player on our side is no secret to anyone. Besides the fact that the atmosphere at Maracanãzinho is different, right? It's traditional, it's historic. I remember many iconic games here and I'm sure that anyone who is a sports fan has experienced an unforgettable moment here in this place," says Olivinha.
