On Friday night (28.02), the Mais Querido got closer to an unprecedented spot in the Final Four of the League of the Americas. In the debut in the semifinals, the phase before the quadrangular that will determine the champion, Fla defeated Cocodrilos 88 to 72, in Xalapa, Mexico. Marcelinho and Laprovittola tied for the top scorers, with 23 points each, with the shooting guard reaching a double-double, with 13 rebounds; the experienced player was also the leader in assists, with seven.

The first quarter was evenly matched, as the scoreboard showed. Flamengo finished ahead by just one point: 18-17. In the second quarter, with Washam on offense and Marcelinho in control, Flamengo maintained its lead and increased the gap to the Cocodrilos: 46-36. Felício also came on strong, demonstrating the bench's strength. Laprovittola led the way with 10 points, closely followed by Marcelinho. The shooting guard also excelled in rebounding with six and assists with five, being the most efficient player in the first half.

In the penultimate quarter, Flamengo picked up the pace, and Meyinsse's dunk prompted the Cocodrilos coach to call a timeout. On the opposing side, Elliot was giving Flamengo a hard time, but with a three-pointer, Marcelinho gave Flamengo a 10-point lead to start the fourth quarter. After shots from Lang, Lopez, and Elliot, and Flamengo's performance slowed, the Cocodrilos closed the gap. The comeback began with a three-pointer from Laprovittola. Marcelinho joined the Argentine on the scoreboard and put the team 10 points ahead. The lead would eventually increase to 14: Nico converted two free throws and then hit a two-point shot. Flamengo finished the match 88-72 and one step closer to the Final Four.

Flamengo still plays against Uberlândia on Saturday (01.03) and the hosts of Group E, Halcones de Xalapa, on Sunday (02.03). The top two teams advance to the final four. In the first phase of the competition, Flamengo won all three matches, against Capitanes de Arecibo, Mavort and Leones de Quipué, in Quito, Ecuador.
