The fans who turned out in force at Tijuca Tênis Clube witnessed an electrifying match. In a great game, full of balance, emotion, and rivalry, Flamengo defeated Brasília 77-74 on Tuesday night (16/12), with a last-second basket from point guard Vitor Benite. The highlights for Flamengo were American center Jerome Meyinsse, with 14 points and eight rebounds, coming close to achieving a double-double, and captain Marcelinho Machado, who topped the scoreboard with 17 points.
"Flamengo is doing well. The championship is very competitive, the other teams are playing well, and there are teams directly competing with us. It's still very early, but the team is on a winning streak, two very important away wins and now at home. In two days, we'll be playing again. To keep this good streak going, we have to win. That's what we're going for," said Benite.
