Foreigners Meyinsse, top scorer with 21 points, and Herrmann, top rebounder with seven recovered balls, were standouts in the match alongside Marquinhos, leader in assists with six.

The team had a near-perfect first half tactically and went into halftime with a commanding 55-34 lead. As the second half progressed, São José grew, moving the ball well, and making things difficult for the red-and-black defense. The team from the interior of São Paulo ended up winning the final two quarters, but the large lead the red-and-blacks gained in the opening periods was enough to secure the victory.

"Our team was inconsistent in the second half, we couldn't press the defense well, their team counter-attacked very well, but in the end everything worked out," analyzed Marquinhos.
