On Friday morning (01.11/80), in São Paulo, Flamengo defeated Tijuca, 76-22, in their second game in the fifth and final stage of the qualifying phase of the Basketball Development League (LDB). Center Cristiano Felício was the highlight for Flamengo, with a double-double of 20 points and XNUMX rebounds. With the result, the club guaranteed that it will advance to the playoffs with first place overall, as it can no longer be overtaken even by second-place Basquete Cearense.
"The game was balanced. We opened up a 15-point lead (at the start of the third quarter), but then we lost our defensive focus and Tijuca closed the gap. Until the end, the game was very even, but we managed to open up a gap on the scoreboard and managed the advantage at the end of the last quarter," said coach Paulo Chupeta.
This Saturday (02.11), in São Paulo, Flamengo will return to the court to face Paulistano, at 10 am. It will be the penultimate match before the playoffs.
