With a strong second-half performance, Flamengo defeated Puerto Rico's Capitanes de Arecibo 81-66 in the first of three Group B matches in the Basketball League of the Americas. The team faces Mexico's Halcones Rojos this Tuesday at 21:30 pm (Brasília time). The match, on Isla Margarita, Venezuela, will be broadcast live on the pay-TV channel SporTV.

Flamengo started the first quarter well, with Jefferson excelling at shooting from the three-point line. However, the game remained evenly matched throughout, and the first 10 minutes ended with Flamengo only two points ahead: 19-17.
