Flamengo wins in three youth basketball categories
The junior, children's and infant teams beat Jequiá in the State Championship, in Gávea

The Rubro-Negro basketball youth, children's and youth teams defeated Jequiá FC this Saturday (14.05), in matches valid for the State Championship. The games ended in 67 to 52, 64 to 40 and 102 to 18, respectively, and confirmed the good performance that Flamengo has been having this season.
In the first game of the day, Flamengo's under-13 team faced a very even match. The team from Gávea took the lead in the first two quarters with strong defense and excellent rebounding and counterattacks. After halftime, the visiting team fought back and closed the gap, but Flamengo remained undaunted and, with a fierce fight, won the match 67-52.
Flamengo's top scorer was number 5 Ricardo Pereira, with 17 points. Coach Nelson Mourão was very pleased with his performance.
"The game was difficult. The Jequiá players put on some pressure at the end, but the credit went to Flamengo for knowing how to handle the game and get the win," he said.
In the children's category, the game started off fiercely. Flamengo opened up a solid lead in the first quarter and, despite being under intense pressure throughout the match, remained in the lead. The game's top scorers were Henrique Machado and Matheus do Espirito Santo, who each scored 13 points for Flamengo.
"The game was difficult, but the team is very united and managed to get the attack right and improve the defense. Thus, we achieved another victory and continue our quest for the title," said a satisfied Henrique.
In the final match of the day, Flamengo U17s came out confident and opened up a 23-point lead in the first quarter. The team from Gávea managed to hold onto their lead until the end, reaching a final score of 102-18. Daniel Lorio was the top scorer with 23 points.
