It's six times!!! Flamengo is the six-time champion of the New Brazilian Basketball Championship. The "Most Beloved" defeated Franca this Saturday in the fifth and decisive game of the final series, 81-72. Not even a packed Pedrocão stadium was able to intimidate the "Most Beloved" players, who brought another trophy to Gávea.

Marquinhos was Mengão's standout performer in the game. He scored 18 points and was the game's top scorer. Balbi, Olivinha, Anderson Varejão, and Deryk also shone, helping the Mais Querido. Olivinha, it's worth noting, was named the finals MVP. 

Flamengo dominated the match in the first half and opened up a great lead: 45 to 29. In the second half, Mengão's performance dropped a bit, but remained ahead on the scoreboard the entire time and took the title: 81 to 72 and a national celebration in Franca. 

With six titles, Flamengo is by far the most successful NBB team. Who can hold it down?
