Flamengo defeated Joinville 88-65 on Thursday night (December 08.12th) in Joinville, taking the lead in NBB 4. The team now has six wins in seven games (85,7% success rate). The team's next challenge will be on Saturday (December 10.12th) against São José, at 18 pm, at the opponent's home. In Thursday's game, Marcelinho was the top scorer with 28 points. Kammerichs recorded a double-double (19 points and 14 rebounds).

Flamengo opened with a 6-2 lead, but Joinville eventually came back to 11-8 and finished the first quarter ahead 17-15. The game remained even in the second quarter, but with 6:30 remaining, when the score was 21-19 for the home team, the referee stopped the match because the court was too slippery and threatening to the players. The match was stopped for about 30 minutes so the organizers could dry the court. Upon returning, Flamengo scored seven straight points and made it 26-21. The red-and-black lead reached 12 points thanks to a three-pointer by David Jackson (36-24), and the red-and-black team went into halftime leading 36-26.

In the second half, Flamengo managed to stay ahead throughout. The lead reached 13 points in the third quarter, thanks to a three-pointer from Marcelinho: 53-40, and the quarter ended 57-43. In the final quarter, with a strong defense, Flamengo won the game 88-65.

Despite the large advantage, captain Marcelinho did not consider the match easy:

"Playing here is always difficult. Joinville is a tough team that scores well. Today, we played well collectively, and that's what led us to victory and made the game seem easy," explained the player, who dismissed Flamengo's favoritism: "It's still too early for that. We have great teams in the competition."
