Last Friday (26), Flamengo defeated Botafogo in two categories in the Carioca Youth Championship. Playing away from home, the under-14 and under-19 teams had no difficulty in achieving another victory.
The under-19 team, which had lost to Tijuca in the last round, achieved a great victory over Botafogo, defeating their opponents 62-58. The under-14 team continued their streak of positive results, beating the black and white team 72-35.
The "Mais Querido" (Flamengo's Favorite) team continues to perform well in the state youth championship across all age groups. With the under-13, under-14, under-15, under-17, and under-19 teams last week, Flamengo achieved strong results and continues to battle for the Carioca championship titles.
The Flamengo Regatas basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors—AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) through the decentralization of funds from the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the club.
