With a great variation of plays and a strong defense, Flamengo had no problems in defeating Bauru 84 x 64, on Sunday morning (20.02), at the HSBC Arena, in Rio de Janeiro. With the result, the red-black team reached 14 wins in 18 games and maintained the leadership of the NBB (Novo Basquete Brasil), with a success rate of 77,78%.
Next week, Flamengo will have three away matches. The first will be on Wednesday (23.02), against second-placed Brasília, at 19:30 pm, in Brasília. On Friday (25.02), the team will face Pinheiros, and on Sunday (27.02), Paulistano, both in São Paulo.
In Sunday's game, Flamengo played well with the ball, and several players finished with high scores. Marcelinho led all scorers with 23 points. Hélio scored 13, and Teichmann and Bábby each had 12 points.
"Flamengo is growing every day and the team is working the ball more today, which means everyone is participating in the plays and several players are finishing with good scores. The defense also worked very well today," praised center Bábby.
Flamengo wasn't threatened and imposed its rhythm from the start. The first quarter ended 20-13.
