Flamengo traveled to the interior of São Paulo to face Rio Claro, seeking victory in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Once again, the strength of Flamengo's squad made all the difference, enabling an important victory for the defending champions.

The game

Despite occupying opposite positions in the standings, Rio Claro made sure to show that Flamengo wouldn't have it easy. The home team took the lead on the scoreboard, and they remained that way for much of the first quarter. Then, with just over two minutes remaining in the first half, Marquinhos, already a strong rebounder for Flamengo, hit one of his now-traditional three-pointers and turned the game around. The Pride of the Nation closed the quarter at 21-19.

The second half saw an even more intense Flamengo performance. Felício's early introduction gave the team a boost, leading the way in rebounding. Meyinsse once again stood out for his grit, with his plastic defense (including blocks) and attacks that made him the game's leading scorer. Without much difficulty, Flamengo closed the second quarter 27-13 and the first half 48-31.

After halftime, coach José Neto once again demonstrated the strength of the Orgulho da Nação squad. Despite numerous changes, Flamengo's squad maintained its rhythm, especially at the start of the fourth quarter, when Herrmann excelled. However, the Flamengo team's strong performance wasn't enough to stop the Rio Claro team, which was seeking a comeback. By stopping Flamengo's attack, the home team took a 28-19 lead over Orgulho da Nação.

Despite a drop in pace in the third quarter, Flamengo remained undeterred. Once again demonstrating why they're the reigning NBB champions, Flamengo put on a strong performance. Once again, with strong performances from Meyinsse, Marquinhos, and Olivinha, the Pride of the Nation took the lead. But, still aiming for victory, Rio Claro closed in and tied the score. Tied 26-26 in the final quarter, Flamengo defeated the home team 93-86, securing their ninth victory in the competition.
