THE CONFRONTATION
The classic started evenly, with the teams trading points until the end of the first quarter, which ended 20-16 for the opponent. After that, in the first minutes of the second quarter, the Pride of the Nation took control of the match and maintained the lead until the end.
Olivinha took responsibility by making two consecutive baskets, drawing a foul, and converting the bonus play. Marquinhos and Deryk also made good plays, helping Mengão build a healthy 43-34 lead by halftime.
In the third period, Léo Demetrio came off the bench and was also a key player. By this point, star player Marquinhos was showcasing his talent and continuing to score. It was already a stellar performance. Botafogo tried to fight back, but Zach Graham responded: 65-57.
