Flamengo wins the CCL 137-50 in the debut of the 2023/2024 season
The Pride of the Nation has a collective victory and defeats Leopoldina in the first challenge of the year
By Leonardo Pimenta - inFlamengo debuted the 23/24 season with a major victory against CCL Leopoldina in the first round of the State Championship. Every player took the court and scored points. Six Pride of the Nation players surpassed the 10-point mark in the match: Gabriel Jaú, Marko Filipovity, Felipe Motta, Guilherme Deodato, Olivinha, and Leoni.
O JOGO
Flamengo started the game with a lineup featuring the players who remained from last season, plus the addition of Franco Balbi. The Mais Querido's number 9, Gabriel Jaú, started the season with a calibrated hand and scored the first nine points of the #FlaBasquete. And in the first quarter, Balbi scored his first three points in his return to the Red-Black team. At the end of the first 10 minutes, the team from Gávea led 35-16.
At the start of the second quarter, coach Gustavo De Conti changed his entire lineup, starting with Scott Machado, Didi Louzada, Felipe Motta, Marko Filipovity, and Maique. The five remained on the court the entire time and further extended their lead against CCL. At the final whistle, the score was 62-30.
The return for the third quarter was with a different lineup. Gui Deodato, Leoni, Maique, Balbi, and Jaú formed the team that opened up an even bigger lead and intensified the battle for the top scorer in the match between Jaú and Gui.
The final minutes of the match were marked by an increase in the advantage and for Emanuel, a young player from Mais Querido's youth academy, who scored almost 20 points. The game ended 137 to 50 and Mengão already has a date set for its next challenge, Saturday (07), at 17 pm, against Municipal.
