São Paulo (SP) - Flamengo took the lead in the quarterfinals of the New Basketball Brazil. This Saturday, they defeated Corinthians, away from home, by 92 to 73. Highlight for Bahamian center Nesbitt, who scored 22 points and was the team's top scorer. Also noteworthy is star player Anderson Varejão, who achieved a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds).
"It was a very difficult match, especially in the first three quarters. They made our performance very difficult. But we stayed focused for the entire 40 minutes, and in the final quarter we performed very well. We significantly reduced their score, managed to open up a lead, and came away with the victory," Olivinha assessed.
