Flamengo defeats Cruzeiro 90-84 and recovers in the NBB.

Flamengo returned to winning ways in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Coming off four consecutive losses, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) team overcame Cruzeiro 90-84 this Wednesday at Maracanãzinho, recovering in the competition. The Rubro-Negro (Red-Black) maintains fifth place with a 72.2% winning percentage in 36 games.
The standout player for Flamengo in the game was the Argentinian point guard Negrete, who scored 20 points and was the top scorer. In fact, the Argentinian has been having a great season, having also been one of the key players in securing qualification for the BCLA Final Four.
But speaking about the game against Cruzeiro, it was a match that unfolded calmly in the first two quarters. With a solid performance, Flamengo managed to open up a 26-point lead.
But the second half was complicated. Cruzeiro improved and closed the gap. They won the third quarter 25-8 and the last 21-19. But that was it. Flamengo won again and the fans smiled.
Gueiros, with 13 points, and Kayo, with 12, were other standouts for Flamengo. Cummings excelled in rebounds with nine. Gueiros led in assists with five.
Flamengo returns to the court on Saturday at 18 PM to face Botafogo away from home. Botafogo is currently in 16th place with a winning percentage of only 28.6%.
