At Morumbi Stadium, Orgulho da Nação began a five-game streak in São Paulo. The next match is against Franca.
By Helena Petry - inAnother one! With a great defensive performance, Flamengo beat Pinheiros on Thursday night (03), in a match valid for the sixth round of the NBB, by 95 to 62, and remains undefeated in the competition. The clash at the Morumbi gymnasium was the first of a sequence of five matches that Rubro-Negro faces in São Paulo until December 12. Olivinha was the top scorer with 15 points.
Reinstated to the squad last week and one of the standout players in the victory over Pinheiros, winger Marquinhos spoke about the match and upcoming commitments.
"I'm as happy as a kid returning to school for the first day. I'm happy to be helping the team get a positive result. We've already won six times in the championship, and the next few matches are important for us to fight for the top spots," said the number 11. "Starting with the next match, we have to raise the bar a bit because Franca is the current São Paulo champion, and we know it's going to be a tough, difficult match, and then São Paulo, Paulistano, and Bauru come next. We want to fight for the top spots, so we have to keep improving with each match."
