Flamengo's basketball team defeated Vasco da Gama 95-75 on Tuesday at Maracanãzinho, concluding their participation in the initial phase of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The result relegated their rival to the Liga Ouro (Gold League) and placed Flamengo in fourth position. 

Flamengo, meanwhile, is heading to the playoffs. Before that, they have the BCLA Final Four ahead of them. This Friday, the team led by Sergio Oveja Hernandez faces Boca Juniors (ARG) in Buenos Aires for the semifinals. If they win, they will face the winner of Franca and Nacional of Uruguay.

Regarding the victory over Vasco, it was a very comfortable game, dominated by Flamengo from start to finish. We won the first quarter 25-19, the second 25-16. In the third, we relaxed a bit and lost 14-12. But in the last quarter, we confirmed our status as favorites with a good 33-26 win.

Center Wesley was the standout player and top scorer of the game with 20 points. Negrete was a key rebounder with 10 rebounds. And again, Negrete led in assists with five. 

On the side of relegated Vasco, Magna stood out, scoring 20 points.
