Flamengo wins for the 20th time in a row in the LDB
Douglas, the game's top scorer, is the standout in the triumph over Brasília

On Tuesday morning (October 08.10), Flamengo achieved an impressive feat in the Basketball Development League (LDB). At the Sport Club do Recife Gymnasium, the Mais Querido reached its twentieth consecutive victory in the competition, defeating Brasília 63-50. Currently, the Rubro-Negro, the only club with a 100% record, occupies second place, two points behind Minas, the current leader, who has already played all of its matches in the fourth stage of the LDB, while Paulo Chupeta's team still has four more games to play.
"It was a tense game. We practiced some special defensive formations because they had a top-notch center. It was good to start the fourth quarter with a win to boost our morale. In the first quarter, we were sensational on defense and even opened up a 21-point lead in the second quarter. After that, we just managed the lead, especially because it's very hot here and we wanted to save ourselves for the tough game on Wednesday," said Paulo Chupeta, the red-and-black coach.
Flamengo's standout performer against Brasília was center Douglas, who led the scorer with 18 points. Yago, a Flamengo player at the same position, also shone, recording a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player from the Mais Querido team who performed well was forward Diego Marques, who had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Flamengo will play again at 11 am this Wednesday (08.10). At the Sport Clube do Recife Gymnasium, the Most Beloved will face Basquete Cearense.
