With a devastating third quarter, in which they won 31 to 16, the Flamengo basketball team turned the game around and defeated Pinheiros this Sunday afternoon, at the HSBC Arena, in Rio.

The team started at a disadvantage. São Paulo's Pinheiros finished the first quarter ahead (21-17) and closed the first half with a 40-24 lead. But Flamengo showed its strength early in the second half, with a sensational comeback. The third ended 65-56 for coach Paulo Chupeta's team.

Final score: Flamengo 82-77 Pinheiros. Marcelinho, with 23 points, and Duda with 19, were the top scorers for Flamengo.
