The red-and-black basketball team secured another victory and remains the leader of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB). The team defeated Uberlândia 79-66, playing in front of a home crowd at the Tijuca Tennis Club. The red-and-black's standout was forward Marquinhos, who topped the scoreboard with 25 points. And just as important as winning was seeing the team perform well again.

"I'm happy with today," said José Neto. "I think we won through defense. We played against a very strong offensive team and only conceded 66 points! Something to highlight," the coach analyzed.

During the first quarter, the Rio de Janeiro team came under pressure from their rivals and fell behind. But in the second quarter, they prevailed after a scolding from coach José Neto. The team turned the game around and extended their lead, thanks to a strong performance by Marquinhos. From then on, they didn't allow their opponents to gain the upper hand.

Flamengo will go to the Federal District to face Brasília, on Thursday (21.02), at 21 pm. In their luggage, they want to win and continue their good campaign in the national tournament.
