Flamengo returns to the court against Brasília
Vitor Benite believes in the team's maturity

Flamengo will take to the court against Brasília, opening the 2013/2014 season of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), next Saturday (09.11), at 10 am, at the HSBC Arena. The current champion of the competition, the Most Beloved will return to the stage where they won the trophy of the fifth edition of the NBB, last June, against Uberlândia.
Point guard Vitor Benite, who was unable to participate in the last final due to a thigh injury, is even more excited for the restart of the championship, which according to him is getting stronger every year.
"Unfortunately, I sustained that injury at a crucial moment. I thought about it for a while, but I hope to come back in good shape to help our team this year. I think the league has been improving every season, with very competitive teams like Brasília, São José, Pinheiros, Bauru. There are many powerhouses that could be rivals for Flamengo. That's great; the competition is more enjoyable for the fans to watch," the player concluded.
Benite still showed optimism for the first game, against Brasília.
"Expectations are very high for the start of the championship. We'll be playing at home and we've been training hard to get off to a good start, even though Marcelinho and Marquinhos can't play. But the team has already shown maturity to handle this well," he said.
