Flamengo returns to training with an eye on Brasilia
The team was the only one of the four that played in the final of the South American League to win on their return to their respective national championships.

After beating Franca last Monday (10.12), at the opponent's home, in its second game in the NBB, Flamengo turns its attention to the match against Brasília, next Thursday (13.12), at 21 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. The match will be the 1000th of the national championship, which was created in the 2008/2009 season. The team returns to Rio this Tuesday (11.12) afternoon, and on Wednesday (12.12) it will resume training.
The match against Franca was Flamengo's first after the final four of the South American League in Corrientes, Argentina. Of the four teams that reached the finals, only Flamengo won in their return to their respective national championships. Argentina's Regatas and Peñarol were defeated away from home, as was Brasília, which lost to Uberlândia in the Minas Gerais city.
"Despite the marathon of games in the South American League, we focused on the match against Franca and came away with an important victory over a team that had won four consecutive matches in five games played so far in the NBB," said coach José Neto.
Regarding the match against Brasília, Neto expects another great clash:
"A game against Brasília is always complicated, difficult, the rivalry is fierce, whether in a friendly or in a championship final. This next match, in particular, will still have the attraction of being the 1000th in the NBB," he added.
