After finishing as runner-up in the South American Basketball League, Flamengo returned to training this Wednesday morning (01.12/XNUMX) at Marina Barra Clube. The team is trying to forget the loss to Brasília in last Sunday's final at HSBC Arena and focus on the upcoming challenges in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB).
The red-black team travels this Thursday (02.12/03.12) and returns to the courts on Friday (05.12/XNUMX) and Sunday (XNUMX/XNUMX), against Assis (SP) and Bauru (SP), respectively. Both matches will be played away from home. Flamengo is undefeated in the NBB, with two wins in two matches (against Vila Velha and Vitória).
"Flamengo has an experienced team, and everyone knows we have to turn the page, forget what happened, and focus on the challenges ahead," said coach Paulo Chupeta, noting that the team competes in the NBB, the State Championship, and has qualified for the Liga das Américas, starting in January. "There are three competitions in total, and we can't rest on our laurels," Chupeta added.
The State semifinals against Cabo Frio will be played on the 7th at Clube Municipal and on the 8th in Cabo Frio. If necessary, a third game will be played on the 10th, again at Municipal.
