FlamengoTV exclusively broadcasts the Intercontinental Basketball Cup throughout Brazil

Flamengo basketball faces a new international challenge. Starting this Thursday (September 18), in Singapore, Flamengo will compete in the FIBA ​​Intercontinental Club Cup, recognized as the world championship of the sport. FlamengoTV has exclusive broadcast rights throughout Brazil and will bring every play of Mengão's matches to the nation in the competition that brings together continental champions vying for the ultimate club basketball title.

The excitement is guaranteed: João Guilherme will be narrating, with commentary by Duda Machado, a basketball legend. Reporting directly from the courts in Singapore will be Emerson Santos, also known as Emershow. 

FlaBasquete debuts on Thursday against NBA G League United (USA) at 6 a.m. (Brasília time). On September 19, also at 6 a.m., the duel will be against the Illawarra Hawks of Australia. The decisive games will be played over the weekend.

In preparation for the competition in Singapore, the red-and-black team, led by Sérgio Hernández, known as Oveja, carried out a training camp in Spain, facing local opponents and adapting to the time zone change.

The coach made a point of highlighting the club's infrastructure and the team's confidence in the tournament: "We are very happy and excited to represent the continent in a competition of this magnitude. We want to put Flamengo at the top of the world – where it should always be," stated Oveja.

History

Flamengo was world champion in 2014 after beating Maccabi Haifa, from Israel, at Maracanãzinho, by 90 to 77. The team had big names such as Marcelinho Machado, Marquinhos, Laprovittola and Olivinha. 

In 2022, they won their second championship in Egypt, defeating Hereda San Pablo Burgos of Spain in the final. Yago, Olivinha, and Luke Martínez led the way.
