In game 1 of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) final, Flamengo lost to Franca 85-79 at the Pedrocão gymnasium in São Paulo. The teams will face each other again next Thursday (02), at 19:15 pm, in Rio de Janeiro.

The game
FlaBasquete's first two points came from Luke Martinez. Rafa Mineiro made an individual play and scored two more. Yago received the ball on the perimeter, shot for a three, and the ball fell. The game was very even, with a point-by-point battle. Mineiro provided a good assist to Olivinha, who scored her first points. The first quarter ended tied at 20-20.

In the second period, Balbi made a beautiful play in the paint, used the backboard, and scored two more for Flamengo. Luke Martinez, with two free throws, gave Flamengo the lead. But Franca reacted soon after and once again took a six-point lead. Brandon Robinson was fouled and converted both shots. In the final seconds, the home team managed to extend their lead even further: 41-32.

After halftime, Olivinha came back with a vengeance, scoring four straight points for Orgulho da Nação. Franca, for their part, continued to be consistent throughout the match, scoring. Luke Martinez attempted a three-pointer, but the ball went in. With two more three-pointers from Luke Martinez and Brandon Robinson, Fla managed to cut the deficit to five points. Yago made a beautiful individual play, converted two points, was fouled, and scored another. Despite the red-and-black comeback, Franca remained ahead: 65-58.

In the fourth quarter, Rafa Mineiro converted a crucial three-pointer. Lucas Olivinha worked well in the paint, scored the points, and was fouled. Franca continued to excel in three-point shooting and kept Flamengo from behind. Balbi took responsibility and hit a three-pointer. Flamengo tried to turn the game around until the end, but the home team ended up closing out the game 85-79.

The Pride of the Nation returns to the court next Thursday (02) for Game 2 against Franca, at 19:15 pm, at Maracanãzinho.
