Away from home, Flamengo beats Bauru 79-66 in NBB 12

By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo entered the court on Thursday night (05) and beat Bauru 79 to 66, at the Panela de Pressão gym, in a game valid for the 11th round of NBB 12. Olivinha was the red-black's top scorer in the match with 19 points.
The game
Flamengo started the first quarter strong and quickly opened up a healthy lead. Excellent on three-pointers, Mengão was able to set up its offensive plays without any major difficulties. Flamengo's play was centered around Olivinha, Jonathan, and Mineiro, who combined for 12 points in the quarter. The Flamengo defense was also well-positioned and shut down Bauru's attacks. Deryk, in the last second, hit a beautiful shot from halfcourt, helping Mengão finish the first quarter ahead 28-16.
Bauru came back more focused at the start of the second quarter and managed to close the gap. Zach Graham, playing well, had his finger on the pulse and hit a three-pointer that maintained a comfortable lead for the Red-Blacks. Flamengo's strong defensive play continued, making it difficult for Bauru to attack. The first half ended 47-32 for the Pride of the Nation.
When the teams returned for the second half, Mengão continued to play better and gave Bauru no room for a comeback. Léo Demétrio, always very involved, hit Mengão's first three-pointer in the third period. In the final three minutes, Mengão managed to close the gap and even the score. The red-and-blacks weren't going in, but Mengão still led 55-45.
In the final quarter, despite Bauru's all-out effort, Flamengo remained confident and managed to maintain its advantage without any late scares. The match ended in a 79-66 victory for Flamengo.
Next Saturday (07), Flamengo returns to the court to face the Franca team, at 12:50 pm, at the Pedrocão gym, in São Paulo.
