Flamengo and Paulistano re-enact the final of Novo Basquete Brasil 6 this Friday (20.11), at 19:30 pm, for the 6th round of the qualifying phase of NBB 8. Playing away from home again, Orgulho da Nação tries to break the undefeated streak of the opponent, who has 100% success in the competition, at the Antonio Prado Jr. gym.

Flamengo has won three consecutive matches. The last one was on Wednesday (18.11), about the Liga Sorocabana. The Mais Querido scored 76 to 68 on the scoreboard at Ginásio Gualberto Moreira and maintained the record of never having lost to the Sorocaba team in the entire history of the competition - nine wins in nine games.
Paulistano played at home but struggled to secure a victory over Macaé, who opened up a 14-point lead in the second period. The comeback came in the second half, narrowly 84-82, also last Wednesday, and earned their fourth victory in four NBB matches.
Record in sight
Keep an eye out: just seven free throws remain for the red-and-black captain Marcelinho Machado to reach the 1,000 mark in the NBB.
Coach's analysis
Coach José Neto expects a tough game against Paulistano, who, in addition to having a 100% record so far in this edition of the championship, are playing at home, but he is confident in FlaBasquete's potential to seek victory.
"We're facing a team built with experienced players to fight for the top spots. They're undefeated in the championship and playing in Sao Paulo, which enhances their strength. We're aware that we'll have a tough match, but we also know that we have a team capable of overcoming this challenge and achieving a positive result," he said.
Neto also praised the quality of the red-black squad, which, with new faces, is going through a process of harmonizing and, even so, has been filling in well for the absences.
"We're in a period where the team is seeking consistency, within the style of play we're adopting. This consistency is compromised by the absence of some players during this period, such as Olivinha (who is recovering from bone edema) and Jason (who missed the last match due to fever and body aches). Other players on the team are managing to compensate for these absences and have an attitude that should be commended. Our focus is on doing the best with those who are available, so we can see the team evolve," he stated.
