Away from home, Flamengo beats Macaé in the State Basketball Championship

Pride of the Nation sets a good pace and beats the home team by 20 points

FlaBasquete won again and rehabilitated its position in the Rio de Janeiro State Basketball Championship. Playing in Macaé, the Pride of the Nation defeated the home team 91-71, earning its third victory in four state championship games. Marquinhos was the team's standout performer in the triumph, leading the scorer with 28 points.

Macaé started the match better. Playing at home, they set the pace early and took a 23-14 lead after ten minutes. However, from the second quarter onwards, Flamengo took control of the match, scoring 25-19 and reducing the lead. At the end of the first half, the home team led 42-39.

The second half belonged entirely to Flamengo. Playing well, rotating the team, and with excellent shooting, the Red-Blacks took a 27-12 lead in the third period and entered the fourth quarter leading 66-54. In the final ten minutes, they managed to extend their lead, scoring 25-17, and closing out the match with a 20-point lead.

In addition to Marquinhos, the game's top scorer, highlights included Olivinha (19 points) and JP Batista (17 points).
