With only three games played in the red and black jersey, Franco Balbi is already demonstrating why FlaBasquete went all the way to Argentina to sign him. One of the leaders in assists in the last Argentine championship, he put on a show this Saturday afternoon in Flamengo's 93-69 victory over Vasco.
The point guard was the standout player of the game, recording a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. After the game, Balbi said he was happy with the result and that it was expected by the team. “Very happy with the game we played. I’m happy with the result and the victory was what we expected. We got another win in the Carioca Championship.”

Even far from Gávea, the fans made a point of attending the Tijuca Tennis Club gymnasium to support FlaBasquete in their quest for another victory in the State Championship. According to Balbi, the team needs to reciprocate the fans' support with dedication on the court. "It's great to have the fans on our side, but we have to repay that support and encouragement from the Flamengo fans on the court, which is very important for our team."
Despite the excitement surrounding the big match against Vasco, the Argentinian projected the classic against Botafogo, valid for the return of the Carioca, next Tuesday (28), at 20 pm, also at the Tijuca gymnasium.
“It will be a very different match from our debut in the Carioca Championship. It will be completely different, since we have already played more matches, but we have to do the same as we did today. We will have to defend well, always run and play with a lot of dynamism, just as Gustavo asks.”
