Guaranteed a place in the playoffs, FlaBasquete beats Instituto 90-80 in the Champions League

Already qualified for the Champions League playoffs, FlaBasquete beat Instituto 90-80 on Friday night (26), at the Angel Sandrin gymnasium, in Argentina. The highlight of the match for the red-black side was Hettsheimeir with 17 points and seven rebounds. With this victory, Mengão finished the group stage of the competition with a 100% success rate.

The game
The red-and-black team's first points came from Marquinhos, followed by five more from Olivinha (one two-pointer and one three-pointer). With high intensity, the Pride of the Nation worked the ball well on offense and capitalized on opportunities to score. In the final stretch of the quarter, Instituto fought back and took a one-point lead: 25-24.

In the second period, Mengão returned with Leo Demetrio on the court and, on the first attempt, hit a three-pointer. Chuzito also showed class, converting another three-pointer. Diego Figueredo, excellent on defense, stole important balls and quickly transitioned to attack. In the final seconds, Yago shot for a three-pointer and converted another. Mengão went into halftime with a five-point lead: 48-43.

In the third quarter, Leo Demetrio dunked a shot inside the paint and hit a three-pointer. Lucas Martinez was no exception, also converting from outside the perimeter. The red-and-black team continued to impose a strong pace and increase their lead. Marquinhos, from the free throw line, added another three for Fla. In a devastating quarter, FlaBasquete opened up an 18-point lead: 75-57.

Early in the fourth quarter, Yago made a great drive and converted two more for Mengão. Hettsheimeir tried for three, but the ball went in. In the final stretch of the game, the Pride of the Nation calmly managed its lead and secured another Champions League victory: 90-80.

Now, Mengão awaits its opponent in the playoff stage of the competition.
