Gegê and Humberto go to the Universiade semifinals

With two red-blacks in the squad - Gegê and new reinforcement Humberto -, the Brazilian team is qualified for the semifinal stage of the Gwangju Universiade, in South Korea. In the early hours of this Saturday (11.07), Brazil beat France 60 to 53 (28 to 29 in the first half).
The opponent this Sunday (July 12.07), at 3 am (Brasília time), will be Germany, who defeated Canada 79-73 in the quarterfinals. This is the best basketball result since the 1997 competition. The semifinal match will be broadcast live on www.fisu.net. The other semifinal will be between the United States and Russia.
Brazil has played six games so far at the 2015 Universiade, with five wins and only one loss to the United States in the qualifying phase, when it finished second in Group D after defeating Chile (78 to 33), Switzerland (100 to 57), Turkey (61 to 59) and Serbia (70 to 65).
