Last week, point guard Gegê and forward Marquinhos were sidelined for the red-and-black team's Liga das Américas (LDA) matches due to a grade-II sprain in their right ankle and a suspected case of dengue fever, respectively. Despite both absences, the team demonstrated its strength, securing top spot in the group and qualifying for the second phase of the continental competition. Both players are cleared to return to the court for the squad's next match, the Novo Basquete Brasil match against Bauru.  

According to team doctor Dr. Cláudio Cardone, both athletes are in perfect condition to return to the team. Orgulho da Nação faces Bauru in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) next Friday (January 31.01st) at 19:30 pm, broadcast on SporTV.
