Gegê: "Group wants five wins in the LDB"
Gávea hosts the third stage of the Basketball Development League; the Flamengo point guard expects Flamengo's games to be sold out.

There are only three days left. Next Wednesday (August 28), the third stage of the qualifying round of the Basketball Development League (LDB) will begin at the Gávea headquarters. Twenty-five matches will be played until September 1st, with Flamengo playing in five of them. Flamengo is in first place and has won all 14 games played so far in the competition. According to point guard Gegê, the team's lead doesn't diminish their desire to win.
"In every game against our team, the opponent comes out differently, because Flamengo is the team to beat, but we're calm about that. The group is focused, knows what it needs to do, and wants five wins," he said.
Since the games will be at Flamengo's home ground and admission will be free, large crowds are expected at the Mais Querido's matches. At least, that's what Gegê hopes. The point guard can't wait to return to the packed Hélio Maurício Gymnasium.
"It's impossible to explain what Flamengo's fans are like. They're the number 12 jersey. The fans have embraced the idea of supporting us and are everywhere we play, it's incredible. It's been a while since we played at Gávea, so let's catch up with the nation. I hope the Flamengo fans fill the gym and turn it into a cauldron," he said.
Reinforcement trains with the boys
On the 12th, American Jerome Meyinsse was officially introduced as a club player. Since then, he has been participating in training with the under-22 team, which competes in the Basketball Development League, as the adult team has not yet reported for the start of the 2013/14 season. Because he is 24 years old, the international signing is ineligible to play in the LDB.
"He seems to be a great team player. It's still too early to say anything, but he's fit in well with all the players and will certainly be a big help to Flamengo's senior team," said Gegê.
