Gegê visits the Salgueiro Olympic Village

The shipowner was at the headquarters of the community samba school project

Last Wednesday (January 28.01), dozens of children had a special afternoon at the Vila Olímpica do Salgueiro. The point guard of the FlaBasquete team, Gegê, visited the headquarters of the community's samba school project to deliver the school kits promised to the young red-blacks after a bet with fellow point guard and friend, Ricardo Fischer, from Bauru.

Upon arriving at the venue, the athlete met the children, eager to meet the star. Gegê and the boys from the Olympic Village talked about Flamengo, studying, basketball, and even had time to kick a ball around. The kits donated by the point guard encouraged study with pens, notebooks, pads of paper, and stickers, as well as a toothbrush, cap, and piggy bank—all licensed Flamengo products.

"I thought it was really cool. It's great to receive this affection and see the joy of these children. Helping is always important, and whenever I can, I'll continue doing so. I think I brightened the day of each of the children who were there, and that makes me calm and satisfied," said Gegê.

On the court, the point guard returns to play for José Neto's team on Friday night (30.01), at 19:30 pm, against Bauru, after a grade two sprain in his right ankle. Learn more about the confrontation.
