The newly renovated Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea hosted the Brazilian men's military basketball team's training session last weekend. The team is preparing for the 5th Military World Games, from July 16 to 24, in Rio de Janeiro. Flamengo will have two representatives on the team: point guard Fred and center Wagner. Training sessions took place Friday (July 08.07), Saturday (July 09.07), and Sunday (July 10.07).

"We will have strong opponents ahead, but we are very excited and well prepared," said Wagner.

The Brazilian national team debuts on the 17th against Lithuania at 18 p.m. at the HSBC Arena. The team then faces Italy (on the 18th), Kazakhstan (on the 19th), Qatar (on the 20th), and Uzbekistan (on the 21st). The final will be on the 24th.
