Coach of Flamengo's professional basketball team, Argentine Gonzalo Garcia accepted the invitation to be Julio Lamas' assistant coach on the Argentine national team in the Pre-Olympic Tournament, in August, in Mar Del Plata (ARG).

Gonzalo is in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to regularize his work visa and will only report to the national team in July, a month after the end of the NBB (New Basketball Brazil), with the finals scheduled for June.

"I was very honored with the invitation, but I'll only think about it when the NBB is over. For now, my focus is completely on Flamengo," said Gonzalo Garcia, who took over the red-black team on January 3.

Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports, Cristina Callou, was also happy with the news.

"I'm very happy, because this proves we made the right choice," he said.
