FlaBasquete has made its fourth addition to the red-black squad for next season. Gui Deodato will wear the Sacred Mantle number 1. The 1,92m, 31-year-old winger is from Bauru and currently plays for the Brazilian National Team - he wore the Yellow Shirt last night, Thursday (30), in the victory over Uruguay, in the World Cup Qualifiers. Brazil has already entered the court qualified.

"I'm extremely happy with my arrival at Flamengo, a place I've always admired, where I have many friends from various sports. I've always heard wonderful things about the club; it's a dream come true. And my goal, obviously, is to win titles. I'm going to a place that thrives on titles, and that's what I want to do: help Mengão win more and more and remain in history and among the elite of Brazil's biggest clubs," said the new star of Orgulho da Nação.

Having played for Bauru, Rio Claro, Vasco, and Mogi, Deodato was at Minas Tênis Clube, where he averaged 13,6 points, 4,9 rebounds, three assists, and a 14,6 efficiency rating last season. The 8 Super 2022 champion and MVP averaged 21 points, 6,6 rebounds, 3,3 assists, and a 22 efficiency rating throughout the tournament. While younger, Deodato was named "Breakthrough Player" in 2012 and "Most Improved Player" in 2012 and 2013 by Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB).

"Gui Deodato is another signing of a star with Flamengo DNA. Known as 'Batman' for his unforgettable dunks, he symbolizes a love affair with basketball. He possesses everything the Pride of the Nation demands: attitude, drive, camaraderie, joy, irreverence, precision, skill, among other factors that have always shaped the idols of FlaBasquete. We will not disappoint those who have always believed that we will reclaim the top step of the podiums in the competitions we compete in," said Guilherme Kroll, Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports.

The Flamengo squad is taking shape: Gui Deodato joins Martin "Loku" Cuello, Rafael Mineiro, Nicolas "Penka" Aguirre, Olivinha, Yago, and Gabriel "Jaú," confirmed for next season. Coach Gustavo De Conti also renewed his contract with FlaBasquete and will remain in charge of the team.
