In the early hours of Tuesday (14), FlaBasquete embarked for Mexico where they will play Game 1 of the quarterfinal series of the Basketball Champions League Americas, against Fuerza Regia, in Monterrey, next day 16. The match begins the series of clashes that will head to Rio de Janeiro next weekend. Not listed for the Super 8 Cup for being hired after the competition's registration deadline, Uruguayan point guard Gustavo "Panchi" Barrera will be able to debut with the Manto on Thursday. 

"I'm really looking forward to the moment I start playing with the team and to making a strong debut so we can leave Mexico with a victory. It will be very important to come home with a positive result to close out the series. I've been working for about three weeks thinking about this game and I hope I can give my best on the court," declares Gávea's new number 55.
