Flamengo started the 2018-19 season on the right foot. Showing its collective strength in key matches in the Campeonato Carioca, the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) lifted the competition's 45th trophy and its thirteenth consecutive. For the first time in a long time, the red-and-black team had a new face at the helm: Gustavo De Conti. The coach demonstrated his skills, made the nation proud again, and took home his third consecutive title.

Gustavinho made a point of demonstrating his work from the very first training session. Always talking extensively and giving instructions, the coach molded the team to win everything in the Carioca Championship. No sooner said than done. With strong defensive characteristics and a powerful attack, Flamengo dominated matches and reached the title without losing a single match. Credit to the squad, the coaching staff, and Gustavo.

"It's very important (to win another title). Winning is always good, especially at the beginning of a new project. This way, we can show that we're on the right track. We've played ten games and won ten, so it's a great way to seal a job well done," celebrated the red-and-black coach while still on the court at General Severiano.

Before arriving at Gávea, the coach had won two consecutive titles with Paulistano: the Campeonato Paulista and the Novo Basquete Brasil 10. With the state title, he begins the 2018-19 season in the same victorious style he ended the last one. Always striving for the top, Gustavinho will have the chance to make history with the Manto Sagrado. And rest assured, he will fight for it.
