Gustavo De Conti praises the importance of fans in the Champions League
Pride of the Nation takes to the court next Thursday (12), at Maracanãzinho, for the semi-final of the competition
By Helena Petry - inNext Thursday (12), FlaBasquete faces the biggest challenge of the season so far: the semifinal of the Champions League Americas. And the biggest triumph of the Rubro-Negro could come directly from the stands. According to the coach, Gustavo De Conti, the Nation is a very important piece in the journey towards the final of the competition.
"It's very important for us to play alongside our fans; they're a crowd that always pushes us forward. In the Champions League, they're instrumental, so we really enjoy it, Flamengo fans enjoy it. I'll never forget that, back at the Arena, against Instituto, when we struggled a bit, we missed a shot, the fans chanted louder, we missed another, and the fans chanted even louder," says Gustavinho. "It gives us goosebumps just remembering it; we can't help but remember it and count on all that support. The most important thing is this: we have the advantage of the fans."
