Gustavo De Conti talks about the Super 8 final against Franca
Coach gave an interview after the victory against Botafogo
By Flamengo Communication - inFlamengo beat Botafogo 99-88 at Arena Carioca 1 and qualified for the Super 8 final. After the victory this Thursday (27), coach Gustavo De Conti spoke to the press and highlighted the team's evolution and the importance of training, in addition to projecting the confrontation against Franca.
"We had a bad patch in the season, which was the most important moment of our semester. During the South American League weekend, we played 18 games in 40 days without any time to train. Since then, we've had good training periods, and that's very important. We're managing to work well and get a lot of things right."
Now Flamengo is preparing to face the Franca team on Saturday (29), at 14 pm, at Pedrocão. The decisive clash will be broadcast by ESPN, Band and Fox Sports.
"Franca has been playing very well. We have to have good logistics to get there, because it's not easy to make this trip and play in such a short time, rest, show videos, and talk to see what we can do in this match. I've always been in favor of holding this type of tournament. I don't know if it was at this time, but I've always wanted to. It combines two good things: a World Cup that really motivates those on the court and is another championship, in addition to a good season, with few games on television. We missed Christmas and New Year's, but that's part of the job," said the coach.
