Gustavo De Conti will continue to lead the Mais Querido in the 2023/24 season. The coach, at Flamengo since 2018, has won every possible title over the past five years - a World Cup, a Champions League Americas, two NBBs, two Super 8 Cups, and five Carioca Cups - and wants to continue making history.
For the upcoming season, Gustavo De Conti will have captain Olivinha, pivot Maique, the renewed Gui Deodato, Gabriel Jaú and Loku Cuello, Didi Louzada and Scott Machado, confirmed until Friday (7), for the squad that aims to win the Carioca, the Super 8, the NBB and the Champions League Americas in 23/24.
"Gustavinho is the best active coach in Brazil. He coached the Brazilian national team, which qualified for the World Cup, defeating the United States twice, once on their home turf. The coaching profession needs to be better understood in Brazil. A good professional only improves with each experience. Flamengo is building a galactic squad. The coach also needs to be on another level. Gustavo is the right name in the right place," said Guilherme Kroll, the club's vice president of Olympic sports.
