New player from the FlaBasquete team arrives at the Mais Querido social headquarters
By Isabel Oberg - inAmerican center Hakeem Rollins, FlaBasquete's new reinforcement, arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Friday morning (13.01). Late in the afternoon, the new member of the Pride of the Nation visited the club's social headquarters, in Gávea, and presented himself to the Medical Department, at Espaço CUIDAR (Unified Center for Integration and Development of Performance Athletes), for routine evaluation exams with the team doctor, Dr. Claudio Cardone.
During a tour of the Mais Querido headquarters, the new pivot visited some of the club's facilities, such as the Georgette Vidor Strength Center and the Hélio Mauricio Gymnasium, and was impressed with the Rubro-Negro's infrastructure.
"This is probably the first time I've played for a club with this much infrastructure. The resources, the facilities, and also the number of staff and people working behind the scenes. That was one of the things that impressed me the most. The number of people behind the team, supporting and assisting with whatever is needed," praised the athlete.
In addition to touring some of the facilities at Flamengo's headquarters, the American visited FlaMemória. At the interactive exhibition, open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, the athlete learned about Flamengo's history and many of the titles and glories of the club's 121-year history.
This Saturday (15.01), Hakeem will start working individually with the club's physical preparation and, after the team returns from the two games that will be played outside of Rio de Janeiro - Brasília (14.01) and Mogi (17.01) - he will join the group led by José Neto.
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo adult basketball team relies on direct funding from its sponsor Estácio, in addition to investments from Tim via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat for Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS).
