FlaBasquete made history once again. On Thursday night (27), the red-black team closed the NBB best-of-five final series against São Paulo 3-0, with a 93-85 victory, and won its seventh title in the competition.
The seventh championship title adds to the Carioca, Super 8, and Champions League titles. Thus, the Pride of the Nation wins the quadruple crown this season, with a 34-game unbeaten streak.
Curiosities of the decision
Tonight's match was even more special for three Mengão stars. Léo Demetrio, Chuzito, and Lucas Martínez won their first NBB trophy! Meanwhile, Flamengo had four players who had already experienced this emotion wearing the Sacred Mantle: Marquinhos and Olivinha, five times, Rafael Mineiro, twice, and Jhonatan, once. Not to mention coach Gustavo De Conti, who also won the tournament with the team in 2019.
