Six-time NBB champion Flamengo seals master sponsorship with BRB
The contract was signed this Monday (22) and lasts for one season
By Helena Petry - inThis Monday (22), Flamengo sealed the master sponsorship for the next season of the red-black basketball team. The contract signing ceremony was held in the Salão Nobre of the Palácio do Buriti, in Brasília, and was attended by authorities from the Federal Government, directors of BRB and the Brazilian Basketball Confederation, as well as representatives of Mais Querido and Universo/Brasília, a team that will also have the support of the company.

In 2019, the red-and-black team celebrates its centenary as one of the most traditional and successful teams in the country. With six titles and the current NBB champion, FlaBasquete has already won forty-four state championships, seven Brazilian championships, a South American Championship, a League of the Americas, and a World Cup.
For the upcoming season, the Mais Querido renewed contracts with stars Olivinha, Franco Balbi, and Rafael Mineiro, and signed North Americans Leron Black and Zach Graham. Marquinhos, Jhonatan Luz, and Deryk Ramos, key players in the victorious 2018/2019 campaign, have contracts for another year and will also remain with the team. Coach Gustavo De Conti continues to lead the squad, which will be seeking its seventh NBB championship. FlaBasquete also has the Liga das Américas and the State Championships ahead, in addition to the international friendly tournament NBA G League Challenge, the team's first match of the season, played in September in Uruguay.
Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports, Delano Franco; the club's Director of Government Relations, Aleksander Santos; Marketing Director, Mauricio Portela; and the Commercial Manager of Olympic Sports, Fabiano Leal, in addition to point guard Franco Balbi and power forward Olivinha, NBB 11 champions, represented the Rubro-Negro at the ceremony.
According to a survey by the Federal District Government conducted in December 2014, 47,9% of Brasília residents who admit to supporting a national team are Flamengo fans. Thus, the "Brasília Capital of Basketball" project, created by BRB, reinforces the Bank's leadership in sports by linking its brand to initiatives that target its target audience, in addition to fostering tourism and engaging the city's population with sports. The initiative's main objective is to sponsor the Federal District's NBB team, the current NBB champion, and the Brazilian national teams, thus encompassing the main aspects of local and national professional basketball.
